GURUGRAM: Although the recent CAG
report has raised concerns over the rollback of over Rs 4,000 cr worth rural development projects, it seems the BJP’s state unit is on a spree of announcing infrastructure projects to woo voters in the assembly polls.
After announcing infrastructure projects worth Rs 30 crore on Friday, state PWD minister Rao Narbir Singh on Saturday said that two major projects for the Gurugram district are slated to be announced by Prime Minister Narendra
Modi on Sunday, the last day of chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar's Jan Ashirwad Yatra.
The minister said that Modi will lay the foundation stone for two projects in Gurugram — a medical college in the name of Mata Sheetla Devi in Kherki Majra village and housing
project for police personnel in Bhondsi. “On Sunday, during the Vijay Sankalp rally, Modi ji will be announcing 10 major development projects for the state. Of these, two are for the Gurugram district. The medical college will be built in the name of Mata Sheetla Devi in Kherki Majra village by the GMDA in collaboration with the Shri Mata Sheetla Devi Puja Sthal Board,” he said.
The prime minister will also lay the foundation stone for the project of 576 houses for police personnel in Bhondsi village, Singh added.
Apart from these two big projects in Gurugram, the
PM will also lay a digital foundation stone for road construction in ABD Faridabad Smart City, Mega Food Park, IMT Rohtak, Integrated Command and Control Center in Karnal from Rohtak on Sunday. Speaking on the developments, BJP national spokesperson Syed Shahnawaz Hussain told TOI, “The party is committed towards Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas. And the development agenda and the continuous effort of PM Modi to improve the economy and employment rate will help the BJP secure over 80 seats this time.”
