NOIDA: Four men were arrested on Friday evening for allegedly bludgeoning a 25-year-old
mobile phone
snatcher to
death near FNG Road in Phase 3 on September 5 while he tried to rob them.
The arrested men, Fateh Singh, his brother Gaurav and two accomplices, Prem Kumar and Sandeep Tiwari, are from Bulandshahr.
The mobile phone snatcher, Amit, used to stay in Mamura with his brother. Police said he was employed with a private firm, but had connections with a gang that robbed people. On Thursday, Amit’s uncle Satveer had filed a case of murder against two of his friends, Digambar and Mohit.
“We nabbed Digambar and he told that he, along with Amit and Mohit, had stopped Fateh Singh to rob him. But he called other men who thrashed and killed Amit with a rock. He and Mohit fled after Amit collapsed,” said Devender Singh, SHO of Phase 3. The four men were arrested and booked for culpable homicide not amounting to murder. Digambar and Mohit have been booked for robbery.
