Four offices burgled in Akota in one night

VADODARA: Offices of a petrochemical company, an architect, a chartered accountancy firm and a tax consultant all located in a single complex in Akota were burgled on Friday.
Harsh Shah, owner of Avani Petrochem Pvt Ltd, informed cops about theft that took place in the four offices located at Padmavati Complex near Cow Circle in Akota. Shah told police that when he reached his office on Friday morning, the lock was broken and all files and papers were lying scattered on the floor. According to police, thieves had emptied all cabinets in the offices and even snapped wires of the CCTV cameras before committing the crime. They stole Rs 50,000 cash, silver coins, share certificates and cheque books from Shah’s office.

Burglars also targeted the offices of architect and a tax consultant’s office on the second floor of the complex. Police said that thieves stole Rs 60,000 cash from the architect’s office and Rs 1,000 cash from the other office. In the chartered accountant’s office on the fourth floor, thieves stole a mobile phone. However, they had ransacked the entire office and all papers and files were lying scattered.
A single offence of burglary was registered at Gotri police station for all the four thefts.
