NAGPUR: A 16-year-old girl has claimed before Tehsil police that she was drugged and sexually harassed by her relatives several times between 2015 and 2019. Following a complaint from the survivor, Tehsil police have registered a case of molestation against Usman and Mohd Shakir under sections of Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
Police said the survivor’s parents died a few years back and since then she was living with her relatives. The accused allegedly used to harass the survivor after giving her sleeping tablets. It is also learnt that the survivor fled the house of her relatives several times due to their alleged harassment.
Two days back, the survivor approached Ganeshpeth police station after fleeing from her relatives house once again. She narrated her ordeal and Ganeshpeth police handed over the case to Tehsil police station as the incident took place under their jurisdiction.
Tehsil police registered a case of sexual harassment in the matter and sent the survivor to government juvenile home at Patankar Square. Cops said the survivor is frightened and before taking her detailed statement they will be consulting a child welfare officer on Monday.
