ROHTAK: "Development, trust and big changes in the country" have defined the first 100 days of the BJP-led NDA government's second term, PM Narendra Modi said on Sunday, asserting that "we know how to take challenges head-on".
Kicking off BJP's campaign for Haryana election, Modi told a rally here that people of India were the inspiration behind his government's major decisions in various fields from farm sector to national security and took a swipe at the opposition parties, saying they are still "numb" from their Lok Sabha polls defeat.
He also invoked the "Isro spirit", saying the final "100 seconds" of Chandrayaan-2's Moon descent changed India's definition of success while the first 100 days of his government created a new parliamentary work ethic.
"On September 7, at 1.50am, the entire nation was awakened and united within 100 seconds. The Isro spirit has now gripped India."
Acountry whose strength is defined by the power of its resolve to achieve a goal, that is the Isro spirit. This country is no longer ready to accept negativity," PM told the crowd at the Vijay Sankalp rally.
He said the completion of 100 days of the NDA's second consecutive term in office would also be remembered for setting a new benchmark in governance. "I want to congratulate all parliamentarians for working hard and completing the maximum business in Parliament in the last 100 days. This is a BJP platform, but I congratulate MPs of all parties for joining hands to work tirelessly and pass many bills." Modi said Parliament had done more work in the past 100 days than what was achieved in the last 60 years.

Seeking a second term for chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar, he said the welfare projects implemented in the state in the past five years were proof of BJP's performance. "First, I want to thank you for giving BJP all 10 Lok Sabha seats (from Haryana). I have come to Haryana three times - once to unveil the mega statue of Ch Chhotu Ram, the second time to give my report card before the Lok Sabha polls and now to seek your support for CM Khattar in the assembly polls," the PM said, inviting a chorus of pro-BJP slogans from the crowd.
He urged the people to conserve water and support the government's "Jan Se Nal" initiative. Before addressing the rally, Modi launched or inaugurated welfare projects worth Rs 2,000 crore.
