Robbers throw itching power on CA, steal Rs 12 lakh cash

RAJKOT: A chartered accountant (CA) lost Rs 12 lakh cash after two unidentified men stole it from the boot of his two-wheeler. The accused threw itching powder on Mahesh Vasani (33) on Mawadi Road of Rajkot on Thursday evening and fled with the cash.
Police said that Vasani was carrying the cash that he had collected from two places including an angadia firm.
“The robbers appeared to have been following Vasani on their two-wheeler. They threw the itching powder on his back, while Vasani was still driving his vehicle. When Vasani stopped to scratch his back, the accused stole the cash from the scooter. We have launched an investigation into the case on the basis of a CCTV footage of the crime,” said an official from Malaviyanagar police station.
