Sushant Singh Rajput, Varun Sharma, Shraddha Kapoor, Prateik Babbar, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Naveen Polishetty and Saharsh Shukla starrer Chhichhore has hit theaters. Helmed by Dangal fame Nitesh Tiwari, the film oscillates between the present and the past of its lead characters. It is a story of seven college friends who, after having a gala time during their student life, reunite in their older days.

Nitesh Tiwari’s wife and film director Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari shared how her husband wanted to make a film on his college life for almost 10 years. In an Instagram post, she wrote, “This #chhichhore of mine had a dream for almost 10 years to write a story on his campus life. I have heard many from the time I have known him. Almost a PHD 😷 Am so happy that this rather quiet man has a theda, funny side and he is finally making it happen. Excited and nervous. Experience his passion for storytelling and a piece of all our hearts in cinemas on 6th September.”

Also, Aamir Khan loved the trailer of Chhichhore. Sharing Aamir’s response, Nitesh Tiwari had earlier said, “He (Aamir Khan) loved it. He was laughing. At the same time, he also got emotional towards the end of the trailer.”

Sajid Nadiadwala, who has bankrolled Chhichhore, said Sushant Singh Rajput and Shraddha Kapoor starrer is one of his finest productions. "It is an underdog film. There are no expectations from the film right now as the trailer didn’t say much. We also don’t have any commercial songs. But when you will see the film, it is going to hit you hard. The cast and the story are wonderful. I think this is the finest film I could gift my kids," he told indianexpress.com.

Director Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari shared how her husband Nitesh Tiwari and his team have been working on Chhichhore for the last two years. In a recent interaction with indianexpress.com, Nitesh Tiwari shared what preparation went into the making of Chhichhore. He said, "It was a very difficult preparation. It was one very challenging film to write and we kept on writing and rewriting drafts because there are so many characters over two different timelines all strung together in plot points that cross each other, something that’s not easy to achieve. So, I am very happy the way it has shaped up."

The director added, "That’s what made it very challenging to shoot also because you are shooting something four months apart but, in the film, they are five seconds apart. How do you shoot that? There has to be seamless transition. That happens throughout the film. That’s what makes it challenging. So, if you are not prepared, you will be in trouble for sure."
