CHANDIGARH: The Chandigarh administration has extended deadline to submit bid for the tender of Rs 4.20 lakh per month of outsourcing multi-cuisine restaurant
Magic Wok at
hotel Mountview, Sector 10.
Earlier, the deadline was September 9 but now it has been extended till September 30.
The outsourcing tender is part of the plan to lease out Chandigarh Industrial and
Tourism Development Corporation (Citco) hotels to private players.
The Citco runs three hotels, Mountview, Sector 10; Shivalikview, Sector 17; and Parkview, Sector 24. Recently, the administration had decided to lease out Citco hotels to private players to make them a profitable venture, a decision that did not go down well with the employees.
In 2018, when the sales of food and beverages dipped in major restaurants and coffee shops, the hotel Mountview lost Rs 2 crore, Shivalikview Rs 66 lakh, and Parkview Rs 27 lakh in the recession. But in the last fiscal, Mountview recovered to record a net profit of Rs 3.03 crore, while Parkview gained Rs 2.31 crore.
Sources said no final decision was taken by Citco over its new marketing policy to increase profits of its hotels. It was decided to improve the experience of guests and satisfaction with services.
The plan also included designing a credit policy, bill delivery and payment follow-up with clients to avoid any bitter experience, increase revenue from banquets and promote hotels for residential conferences.
