EL AL reveals for the first time the unique design of the airline’s new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, the 12th to join the fleet. The aircraft, code number 4X-EDM, is to arrive in Israel in September 19 and will bear the name “Jerusalem of Gold” in honor of the capital city and as a mark of esteem for the song whose lyrics and music were composed by the late songwriter Naomi Shemer. The motif on the aircraft’s livery is represented by the colors blue and gold, combining the flag of Israel and the airline’s logo.
With the arrival of the new plane, EL AL’s 787 Dreamliner fleet will number 12 aircraft that are operated on the airline’s nonstop flights to New York and Newark, Los Angeles, Miami, Las Vegas, San Francisco, Toronto, London, Paris and Hong Kong. Later this year, with the airline’s new 787 Dreamliner aircraft, they will also be operated on nonstop routes to Beijing, Mumbai, Tokyo and Chicago.
