KCR accords highest respect to teachers, says Jagadeesh Reddy

Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao accords highest respect to teachers, said Education Minister Jagadeesh Reddy here on Thursday.

Speaking at the official Teacher’s Day celebration at Ravindra Bharati, Mr. Jagadeesh Reddy said that people were aware of the respect Mr. Rao gave to his teachers who taught him and how he worshipped them.

“No other profession would give as much contentment as teaching,” he said. “A person would never forget his teacher whatever high position he might be in,” he added.

The Education Minister said that it was the responsibility of teachers to mould students to face the competitive world. There was a lot of stress on teachers in present times but they should give their best to win best teacher awards.

The Minister said that the education system was being strengthened under the leadership of Chief Minister KCR and hundreds of residential schools were set up in the State to provide quality and compulsory education.

The State Government was spending ₹15,000 crore on schools every year in the State.

Later, he felicitated “best teachers”. Several MLCs and education department officials participated in the meeting on Thursday.

Meanwhile, teachers demanded that inter district transfers be taken up by the government. Some teachers confronted the Minister to register their protest. Though representations were given several times about spouses working in different districts, the transfers had not been effected so far, they said. The teachers’ associations later said that the Minister assured them that a decision would be taken soon.
