HYDERABAD: A pig suffered grievous injuries on Thursday after it was tied to a two-wheeler and dragged for about a kilometre along a busy road in
Secunderabad. The incident came to light when an
animal rights activist,
Vadlamani Murthy, took photos of the ghastly incident and stopped the motorist from hurting the animal further.
The stray pig, which was roaming inside Wesley Boys High School premises at PG Road, was tied to a two-wheeler with a rope by the school watchman G Srinivas. Principal K Jaswanth Roy told Srinivas to chase away the animal from the school's premises. "The pig was dragged from the school on to the road near Paradise," said Murthy who brought the matter to the notice of the local police.
The school principal, who was asked to come to
Ramgopalpet Police Station for questioning, later issued a written statement saying that he takes complete responsibility for the cruel act.
