NCP stir to protest against PCMC ‘meals’ 

Pimpri: The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) on Thursday held a mess agitation at the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation’s gate to protest against the recent meals hosted at the civic body premises for District Guardian minister Chandrakant Patil and others.

The minister had held a meeting at the PCMC headquarters to review various projects. The meeting was attended by PCMC office-bearers and other elected representatives. Before the meeting, meals were organised for the minister and others at the municipal commissioner’s cabin.

The NCP had condemned the civic administration’s move for turning the civic body premises into a ‘mess’.

The mess agitation was held at the PCMC gate at 1 pm. Those participated in the stir included PCMC Leader of the Opposition Nana Kate, NCP corporators Datta Sane, Prashant Shirole, Bhausaheb Bhoir, Sulakshana Dhar and others.

Earlier, corporator Datta Sane had sought permission to host the meals at the municipal commissioner’s cabin but the demand was rejected.Mayor Rahul Jadhav arrived at the civic body headquarters as the agitation was going on. Kate and Sane urged him to join the meals but the mayor refused.
