The Melbourne mother of an allegedly murdered two-year-old boy has broken her silence about missing her son and revealed she is being trolled online.

Two-year-old Jaidyn Gomes died on Monday afternoon, with emergency crews unable to revive him after receiving reports he had been injured at the home in Langwarrin.

His mum Stacie Amy Saggers, 35, was arrested at the scene and interviewed by Victoria Police for more than 24 hours but was released without charge.

Ms Saggers' boyfriend, 32-year-old Brendan Pallant, has been charged with the toddler's murder.

The heartbroken mother said she knew something was wrong the moment Pallant told her to call emergency services.

'I asked him, "what... why?" and he kept yelling at me to call triple zero,' she told Nine News.

Ms Saggers had returned home from work on Monday afternoon and was under the impression Jaidyn was asleep in his bedroom.

However, she soon realised that something was wrong and neighbours heard screaming coming from the house before authorities arrived.

'He's got university degrees in child protection, who wouldn't trust someone like that? I just don't understand... I'm confused,' the mother said.

Ms Saggers has not spoken to Pallant about what happened since he was arrested, but she said she doesn't want to talk to him.

The mother has also received threats from strangers online.

'Who the hell do you think you are? You don't know me from a bar of soap... and as far as I'm concerned everyone has their flaws of being a parent,' Ms Saggers said.

It is understood Jaidyn lived with his mother, who was widowed after her partner Christopher Gomes died in November.

People who knew the family posted tributes on social media.

'Only the good die young RIP Chris and Jaidyn Gomes,' Fabian Pacey said.

'Rest easy little one (Jaidyn) gone but never forgotten you're with daddy now Christopher Gomes he will look after you both missed and will never be forgotten fly high and rest easy,' Mitch Argentaro said.
