Share market update: FMCG shares trade lower; United Breweries dips 1%

The Nifty FMCG index was trading 0.18 per cent down at 28,659.70 around 10:44 am.

NEW DELHI: FMCG shares were trading lower in Friday's morning session.

Shares of United Breweries (down 1.62 per cent), Tata Global Beverages (down 1.51 per cent), Marico (down 0.66 per cent) and Britannia Industries (down 0.43 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

Dabur India (down 0.25 per cent), GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare (down 0.21 per cent), Emami (down 0.19 per cent) and Procter & Gamble Hygiene & Healthcare (down 0.18 per cent) too were trading in the red.

The Nifty FMCG index was trading 0.18 per cent down at 28,659.70 around 10:44 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 29.60 points at 10,877.50 while the BSE Sensex was up 103.90 points at 36,748.32.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 29 were trading in the green, while 21 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Tata Motors, Dish TV India, Vodafone Idea, Indiabulls Housing Finance, DLF, Bank of Baroda, JSPL, Ashok Leyland and PNB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
