The DFA programme brings innovative start-ups from around the world to work with corporate entities and government agencies in Dubai. Emirates joined the DFA programme in 2017 and the teams participating would be dedicated to addressing three challenges set forth by Emirates in the domains of B2B procurement, seamless customer experience and an integrated system for crew duty travel.
Khalfan Belhoul, CEO at Dubai Future Foundation said: “What we are witnessing here is the advancement of the next wave in aviation innovation led by the UAE government by adopting and testing emerging technologies and reiterating once again Dubai’s role in shaping the future of humanity. The MoU’s signed today are the outcome of DFA’s offering of an ideal setting for Emirates, the world’s largest international airline, along with the brightest and most innovative minds, to work hand in hand in finding transformative solutions to key challenges in the aviation industry.”
The teams worked with stakeholders from Emirates to map out requirements, refine their proposals and develop prototype solutions. Opinsta were chosen based on the fit for their solution to enhance internal processes and systems for crew duty travel and for broader application and scalability within Emirates.
Amna Al Redha, Emirates, IT Specialists and Programme Manager said: “Working with Opinsta has been very interesting because they’re a very dynamic team, they’re open to any challenge we throw in-front of them. Now the crew challenge is difficult in the sense it has 22,000 people involved in it. But Opinsta have done a fantastic job in meeting all of the relevant stakeholders, not only understanding their pain points but trying to visualise the next 15 years of how that communication plan should look like. I really enjoy working with Opinsta because of how understanding they’ve been of what our team requirements are”.
