Age Ain’t Nothing But A Number: 12-Year-Old Dodge Journey Soldiers On For 2020

For all the talk about the Journey’s demise, FCA’s oldest crossover remains on sale as Dodge has confirmed the midsize model for the 2020 model year.

Dodge seems to ignore the fact that the Journey is almost 12 years old and continues to offer it in the United States. America’s most affordable midsize crossover (it starts at $23,645) gets renewed for 2020 and undergoes several changes in the process.

For starters, Dodge cuts the 2020 Journey lineup to two models: Journey SE Value and Journey Crossroad. This means the Journey SE and Journey GT are gone, and with the GT the 283-hp 3.6-liter V6 option has been dropped as well.

Both 2020 Journey models feature a standard 2.4-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine that produces 172 hp and 165 lb-ft (224 Nm) of torque. The unit is mated to a four-speed automatic transmission (yes, you read that right) that sends power to the front wheels in the base SE Value model — an all-wheel-drive system is optional on the Crossroad.

The remaining changes for the 2020 model year are content related. Both the Journey SE Value and Journey Crossroad gain standard Rear Park Assist, with the latter model also getting a standard sunroof.

Dodge has also created a new Popular Equipment Group, available on both models. This pack bundles many popular features in one easy-to-order package. On the Journey SE Value, the Popular Equipment Group brings Uconnect Voice Command with Bluetooth, SiriusXM Radio with 12-month subscription, leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, tri-zone temperature control, power driver seat, cloth seating, security alarm, and interior observation mirror.

For the Journey Crossroad, the Popular Equipment Group adds navigation, six premium speakers and subwoofer, heated front seats and steering wheel, remote start, and a universal garage door opener.
