PSIEC to restore cancelled plots to bizmen

Ludhiana: In a big relief for businessmen whose allotment of plots by Punjab Small Industries and Export Corporation (PSIEC) had been cancelled, the corporation has introduced a new policy of restoration of the plots. Businessmen have welcomed the initiative, and according to them, it will benefit hundreds of businessmen suffering after cancellation of plots.
Chamber of Industrial and Commercial Undertakings (CICU) president Upkar Singh Ahuja said, “On demand from CICU, PSIEC has introduced a policy of restoration of cancelled plots. In the past, a large number of plots were cancelled by PSIEC for various reasons, like clubbing cases, non-production, tower installation, and other violations. Since some of the violations were caused inadvertently by the businessmen, this was a very harsh decision of the PSIEC. Therefore, we recently demanded from PSIEC the introduction of a restoration policy for cancelled plots. Thanks to the department, the policy has been introduced from August 29, and it will benefit hundreds of businessmen who had lost hope of restoration of cancelled plots.”

CICU general secretary Pankaj Sharma said, “We are thankful to PSIEC for giving such a big relief to the business community. With the introduction of this policy now, industries of Ludhiana, Mohali, Jalandhar, and Amritsar will have to pay 10% of the current reserve price operative at the time of seeking restoration, while in other districts, the charge will be 5% of the current reserve price.”
Speaking on the issue, PSIEC chairman Gurpreet Gogi said, “Our government and PSIEC are committed to provide world-class infrastructure to Punjab’s businessmen. The initiative to restore cancelled plots was started on requests from businessmen suffering for years due to minor issues. I request businessmen to come forward with their suggestions or complaints they have against PSIEC.”
