Stella Maris boys win on day one

Pune: Stella Maris High School beat Symbiosis School 2-0 in the Under-17 category on the first day of the Bishop’s Invitational Football Tournament which commenced at Jeejeebhoy ground here on Wednesday.

Aditya Kadam scored the first goal for Stella Maris in the 15th minute while Ketan Picha scored a self goal in the first minute.

In another match, Vidya Valley School defeated Riverdale School 5-1. Aarul Kale from Vidya Valley scored two goals in the 15th and 27th minutes while Abhiram Girgaonkar (36th), Aditya Chauhan (46th) and Adit Padhye (50th) scored one goal each. Meanwhile Rik Ghosh scored the lone goal for the Riverdale boys in the 45th minute.

Later, Infant Jesus School defeated The Bishop’s Co-ed School, Undri 1-0 with Sarang Gawde scoring the lone goal in the 33rd minute.

In other action, Anglo Urdu High School defeated The Bishop’s Co-ed School, Kalyaninagar with the score reading 3-0 to enter the next round.

Vijayanand Kasbe scored a brace in the 11th and 26th minutes while Aditya Kamble added one goal to the tally in the 35th minute.
