Reliance Industries Ltd is set to commercially introduce 'Jio Fiber Broadband' today. Its the third anniversary of Reliance Jio's telecom operations and the company is launching its very ambitious product  'Jio Fiber Broadband' today.

Earlier, at the company's 42nd annual general meeting Mukesh Ambani, chairman, and managing director, RIL, said, "In India, even the most basic Jio Fiber plan starts with 100 Mbps speed and we have planned all the way up to 1 Gbps or 1,000 Mbps. Jio Fiber plans will be priced between Rs 700 to Rs 10,000 per month to suit every budget."

The subscriptions starting from Rs 700 per month, promises free voice calls for life from landlines, 100 Mbps minimum broadband speed and free HD TV set on a commitment to an annual plan.

While the Jio Fiber plans will come bundled with subscriptions to most leading premium Over The Top (OTT) applications, the 'Jio First Day First Show' offering will be introduced sometime in mid-2020.

Additionally, the default tariff plans for its unlimited international calling pack will be one-fifth to one-tenth of existing market tariffs. The charges for calling from Jio landlines to the US and Canada will be Rs 500 a month.

"On fixed-line international voice calling, we are today ending the era of high international calling rates on landline by announcing the lowest fixed-line rates for international calling," he said during the AGM on Monday.

Launch offers

To attract people, the company has planned to give a free set-top box with every broadband connection direct-to-home and cable TV users as per PTI's report. Those who buy 'Jio Forever' annual plans will even get an HD or 4K LED TV and a 4K set-top box absolutely free.

The company has kept zero installation charges for now. The subscribers have to pay a refundable security deposit of ₹2,500 to get the router or ONT device.
