BENGALURU: To improve multi-model integration, Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMRCL) has decided to build the much-delayed Foot Over Bridges (FOBs).
BMRCL on Thursday invited a detailed design consultant for FOBs. One, FOB connecting Sandal Soap Factory Metro Station on the Green Line to IISc with a connectivity to Yeshwantpur BMTC bus stand.
Second, FOBs connecting Yeshwantpur Metro station to Yeshwantpur railway stations
The Yeshwantpur metro station, which is operational since 2014, was not connected with the railway station causing severe hardship to the passengers especially those with luggage. BMRCL and SWR has been promising to connect FOB of the platform number 6 of the railway station to the Metro station.
Meanwhile, BMRCL has also invited a detailed design consultant for elevated Challaghatta yard & depot-cum-workshop with intermodal integration hub for phase-2 project. BMRCL is planning to establish a new station and multi-level parking at Challaghatta, which is beyond Kengeri. Intercity buses from places like Bidadi,
Ramanagara, Channapatna,
Mandya and Mysuru can halt there. SWR is planning Kengeri-Whitefield corridor as part of the suburban rail project.
