Delhi: 25kg of heroin seized, 2 traffickers held

NEW DELHI: The Special Cell has arrested two notorious drug traffickers and seized 25kg of fine quality heroin worth Rs 125 crore in the international market. The accused have been identified as Amol Chamling (24) and Madhav Goutam (40), who are residents of Manipur. A Scorpio SUV and mobile sets used in crime have been seized.
According to DCP Sanjeev Yadav, a team led by ACP Nishant Gupta had received information about a drugs consignment being delivered on Karala-Bawana Road. A trap was laid and Chamling was arrested with drugs hidden under the seat of the vehicle.
Spot questioning of Amol revealed that he was part of a larger narcotic syndicate. It came to fore that he and his partner Goutam used to bring consignment of heroin from Saikul, Manipur, and distribute it in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Delhi-NCR.

Goutam’s location was traced to Lucknow. A team rushed there and arrested him. During questioning, Chamling disclosed that he used to supply heroin to Haji Mujim, Haji Ahmad and others who live in Lucknow.
They claimed that they received heroin from one Saikuland Thoubal of Manipur. The police are conducting raids to nab these men. An FIR under the NDPS Act has been registered against all these suspects, police said.
