P Sanjeev, vice president of sales at
Huawei India-Consumer Business Group, has quit the company after a stint of around 15 years, sources familiar with the matter told ET.
Sanjeev was handling Huawei's sub-brand
Honor in India. The development comes at a time when both Huawei and Honor brands suffered sales decline in the country following the ban imposed by the US government.
Huawei didn't respond to emailed queries, while Sanjeev declined to comment.
Honor already laid off people across functions following dismal demand for its products after its parent company Huawei was added to an “entity list” of companies barred from receiving US-made hardware and software components without permission from Washington, ET previously reported.
Analysts and industry watchers said that both Huawei and Honor is sitting on a good amount of inventory.

smartphone brands category, as per Counterpoint Research.
In May, the US government added Huawei to an “entity list” of companies barred from receiving US-made hardware and software components without permission from Washington. Huawei had then said that it will continue to sell Android-based smartphones under both brands from its existing stocks.
US President
Donald Trump in June-end said the US companies could sell equipment to Huawei but there is no known regulatory development after his statement to end the ban.
