Accused Gold Coast wife killer's trial nears close

The prosecutor in John Chardon's murder trial has told jurors he doesn't know how the Gold Coast businessman killed his missing wife but insists all the little pieces of evidence add up to the fact that he did.

Novy Chardon, 34, disappeared on February 6, 2013, amid a bitter divorce dispute. Her body has never been found.

John William Chardon, 72, is fighting a murder charge in the Supreme Court in Brisbane.

"It's not submitted by the Crown that I can stand here and tell you exactly what he did when he killed his wife," prosecutor Mark Green said on Thursday during his closing address to the jury.

"But all (the) little things together just simply tell you the truth."
