7 Knights wins PYC Chess League

Pune: Nikhil Chitale of 7 Knights got the better of rated player Ajinkya Joshi of Golden Knights in an Armageddon match after both the teams were tied at 3-3 and helped his team win the PYC Chess League 2019 which was organised by PYC Hindu Gymkhana which concluded in their hall.

7 Knights player Aditya Bhat lost to Niranjan Godbole 0-1, Sarang Urdhawarshe got the better of Arnav Kunte to level scores, Tanmay Chitale won against Priyadarshan Dumbre to let the team up to 2-1, however Madhuri Jadhav lost to Golden King’s Ajinkya Joshi to level scores to 2-2.

Meanwhile 7 Knights player Shubhankar Menon lost to Hemant Urdhwarshe to let Golden King go up 2-3 however Nikhil Chitale castled out  Abhishek Deshpande to level scores 3-3 and win the final match against opponent Ajinkya Joshi to take his team 7 Knights to a 4-3 tiebreaker victory.

The winning team got a trophy and medals.
