Daniels, who has protested his innocence, was supported in court by his mother and father.

The court heard last month that police had gathered thousands of pages of evidence in the case against the young swimming coach.

Police had previously alleged their case against Daniels was 'strong'.

He was initially accused of having sexual intercourse with two girls - aged six and seven - at the swim centre.

Detectives then charged him with sexually assaulting eight other girls multiple times 'in and around the pool' between January 2018 and March 2019.

Court documents said Daniels' alleged offences began in January 2018, with the indecent assault of a ten-year-old girl.

He was also accused of having sexual intercourse with a seven-year-old girl eight times in three weeks.

Police arrested Daniels - who was born in South Africa - at his parents' $2.3 million home in the suburb of Balgowlah on March 12.

Daniels has continued to study sports science at the University of Sydney even with his pending legal matters.
