A university student got a wake up call this morning before he had even sipped his coffee - finding a large python perched on top of his coffee machine.
Pictures of the snake were posted on the Brisbane Snake Catchers Facebook page on Wednesday.
'A uni student in Brisbane spotted a large snake his bedroom yesterday afternoon, with no luck finding it, he decided to stay a friend's house for the night, hoping it would leave on its own,' Brisbane Snake Catchers said.

'After returning back home today he noticed the snake was still in his bedroom and clearly made himself quite comfortable whilst he was gone, as we found having a snooze on top of his microwave.'
Those who viewed the photo said while the animal looked comfortable it would certainly put them off making coffee.

The snake was confirmed as a carpet python - which are harmless - though from now until next winter they are quite active.
