Cape Town - South African tennis fans have called out Computicket after failing to secure tickets for the much-anticipated Roger Federer v Rafael Nadal 'Match in Africa'.
The match, to be played at Cape Town Stadium on Friday, February 7, 2020 was SOLD OUT in just over 10 minutes on Wednesday.
The match will help raise funds for the Roger Federer Foundation's educational programmes in Africa.
Hundreds of South Africans were left irate and confused as they could not purchase tickets either online or in-store.
The tickets ranged from R150 to R1 950.
We included some of their responses below:
Utter nonsense !! 50k tickets in ten min when I’m on a 200mb fiber line and entered the waiting room in seconds !? Sorry Computicket but come up with a believable story. Your Brand was tarnished today

Dear @rogerfederer, my mom is a huge fan of yours & her only dream was to see you play live. She's 66 yo. Unfortunately due to the very antique method of ticket selling, we were in the online queue for over 20mins & tickets are now sold out. Please help me help her ?? pic.twitter.com/LAVMQ1IWO1

Kindly jump in a bin. This is absolutely disgusting. Did all the tickets get bough beforehand by companies or something. Unbelievable

This is certainly not the truth of the matter @Computicket and this is going to the media for investigation. I would like to know how many public tickets were actually made available vs corporate and pre-selling through various channels and touts. @rogerfederer
