Police release vision of shocking glassing at packed Perth bar
WA Police have released shocking vision of the moment a young man inside a packed Perth bar was allegedly 'glassed' in the face by another patron.
The incident occurred at Market Grounds on Saturday, August 31, when the victim, 26, appeared to bump into his alleged attacker.
The CCTV footage shows the alleged attacker striking the man, before quickly turning and walking away into the crowd as people begin to gather around the injured person.
The 26-year-old suffered a large laceration to his face and neck and was taken to Royal Perth Hospital.
The wound, which narrowly missed a major artery, required more than 30 stitches.
Perth Detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident and have appealed for the man in the featured picture to come forward.
The incident comes a week after Australian actor Hugh Sheridan's brother was "glassed on the street" in a random attack outside His Majesty's Theatre in Perth.
Two teenagers were charged over the attack.
The same weekend, a woman in her 20s was smashed over the head with a bottle on a street in Northbridge.
Anyone with information regarding the Market Grounds incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report the information online at www.crimestopperswa.com.au.
