Volvo XC90 Excellence Lounge Console Launched in India, Priced at Rs 1.42 Crore

Swedish automaker Volvo Car India has an exclusive variant of their flagship SUV in India. The XC90 Excellence Lounge, which has been priced at Rs 1.42 crore (ex-showroom), comes in a three-seater configuration. Volvo says that the car is available as an ultra-limited edition in India.

Speaking on the occasion, Volvo Car India, Managing Director Charles Frump said, “Our distinctive approach aims to deliver a luxurious and calming experience to our customers. Volvo XC90 Excellence Lounge is the most exquisite car we’ve ever made. It rides on the success of over 100 XC90 T8 Excellence (4-seater) delivered and India is the highest-selling country for this product.”

The discerning owner of the XC90 Excellence Lounge gets a first-class lounge experience in the Nappa leather seat with ventilation and massage functions. Other ultra-luxury features include folding leather-clad tray tables, refrigerator, crystal glasses with holder, Linear Walnut Décor and a foldable integrated 13-inch iPad with Bowers & Wilkins headset.

The XC90 Excellence Lounge retains all XC90 T8 Excellence’s key features. It’s a plug-in hybrid with the capacity to run for up to 40 km in a single charge of the battery. Thereafter, the car automatically changes over to a hybrid mode. Other features on XC90 T8 Excellence include Adaptive Cruise Control, Pilot Assist, 360-degree camera, Collision Mitigation Support.

The XC90 T8 Excellence Plug-in hybrid powertrain offers three distinct driving modes – Pure, Hybrid and Power. The car is built on Volvo’s Scalable Product Architecture (SPA). The 2.0 litre 4-cylinder petrol engine and a 65 kW electric motor delivers a collective 408hp and 640 Nm torque. Volvo claims a 0-100 kmph of 5.6 seconds.
