Police personnel take out flag march in Shivamogga

To maintain peace and order during the immersion of Ganesh idols and during Muharram, the police took out a flag march in the city on Wednesday.

The march commenced from Amir Ahmed Circle at 10.15 a.m. and passed through K.R. Puram Road, H. Siddaiah Road, Gandhi Bazaar, and Lashkar Mohallah. Personnel from the Karnataka State Reserve Police and Rapid Action Force also took part. K.M. Shantharaju, Superintendent of Police, and H.T. Shekhar, Additional Superintendent of Police, took part.

Later in the day, the police also took out a flag march from Tipu Nagar. It passed through Koramarakeri, Srirama Nagar, J.P. Nagar and concluded at Draupadamma Circle. Mr. Shantharaju told presspersons that the flag march was taken out to send a stern warning to anti-social elements against any efforts to disturb amity.
