CCC announces deadline on Jackie Trad

The Crime and Corruption Commission will reveal on Friday whether it will formally pursue an investigation into Deputy Premier Jackie Trad.

Ms Trad has been under fire over the purchase of a $695,500 property near a proposed Cross River Rail station at Woolloongabba by her family trust, a project for which she had ministerial responsibility, and for failing to declare it on her register of members' interests within the required time frame.

The CCC has confirmed it will finish its assessment of Ms Trad's matter on Friday.

"It is not appropriate for the CCC to comment further whilst the assessment remains ongoing," a CCC spokesman said.

The confirmed timeline means Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk will be forced to deal with the integrity saga and the question of who will act as premier before she jets off to Switzerland at the weekend to meet with the International Olympic Committee.

Earlier this week, Ms Palaszczuk said it was "customary practice" to leave her deputy in charge while the premier was out of the country.

Ms Palaszczuk would not explain what would happen if the CCC decided to pursue an investigation while Ms Trad was acting premier.

"That is a hypothetical, so I don't like dealing in hypotheticals," she told reporters in Townsville on Monday.

Ms Trad previously pledged to stand down from her ministerial responsibilities if an investigation was launched by the CCC.

On Tuesday, Ms Trad vowed to reveal her side of what happened once the CCC wrapped up its assessment.

"I have refrained from putting on record my circumstances and my issues and so there is a bit of a void in terms of my side of the story," she said.

State Development Minister Cameron Dick or Tourism Industry Development Minister Kate Jones would be likely contenders to step up as acting premier if Ms Trad was ruled out of contention.

During budget estimates hearings last month, Ms Trad revealed she personally called CCC chair Alan MacSporran as a "courtesy" one day before referring herself to the body over the house purchase.

Mr MacSporran, who said he took the call on a Sunday in his tracksuit pants while putting together IKEA furniture, stood aside from the assessment following the revelations of the phone call.
