New Motor Vehicles Act: Delhi police issues advisory for its cops

NEW DELHI: Delhi Police has issued an advisory for its personnel asking them to abide by the traffic rules since under the new Motor Vehicles Act, any government officer found violating the rules will be liable to pay double the amount of challan.
In a circular issued by joint commissioner of police (traffic) Meenu Chaudhary, top cops have asked the policemen on road to be careful about wearing helmets or jumping a traffic signal.

Delhi cops had booked more than 200 policemen for violating traffic rules last year.
