AIADMK, AMMK ask functionaries to take part in EC drive to make voters’ list error-free

CHENNAI: A day after the DMK has asked functionaries to make use of the month-long campaign for making corrections on the summary voters list, the AIADMK and AMMK on Wednesday asked their functionaries to involve themselves in the campaign.
The Election Commission of India has opened the national voters’ service portal for the electorates to make necessary corrections and rectifications on their own on the voters’ list from September 1 and 15. The booth level officers (BLOs) would conduct door-to-door verification to validate the corrections made by the voters before the summary voters list is published. The mother list would be published in the first week of January.
The party leadership has asked the party functionaries from ward level to senior leaders to participate in the exercise to facilitate the voters in their respective booth and constituency to make the necessary corrections and include new voters on the list. The booth level agents of the party should involve in the exercise actively.
They have been asked to submit a report to the party headquarters through the district secretary of the respective districts, said the press statement signed by party’s coordinator O Panneerselvam and joint coordinator Edappadi K Palaniswami.
AMMK leader T T V Dhinakaran has also asked his party men to participate in the drive and facilitate the voters in their respective booths to make corrections on the list.
