Farah trains with Tigers to lift hopes of miraculous return

Robbie Farah has taken a big step towards proving his fitness for this week's NRL regular-season finale by running with his Wests Tigers teammates at Leichhardt Oval on Wednesday.

The Tigers legend is pushing to recover from a broken leg in order to take the field for Sunday's do-or-die clash with Cronulla which will determine who qualifies for the finals in eighth spot.

Farah has missed the past three games and was sporting strapping on his right leg but lasted the entire session.

The 35-year-old looked unhindered as he took to the paddock just two days after running for the first time since suffering a fractured tibia against Canterbury on August 10.

Farah has announced he will retire at the end of the season and he is desperate to get back on the park one last time.

If he fails in his bid, his only chance of playing again will be if the Tigers snatch a place in the finals.

The joint venture is in the midst of the longest finals drought in the competition, having not made the top eight since 2011.

If Farah does fail in his recovery Benji Marshall is expected to once again start at No.9 with Josh Reynolds to come off the bench.
