After being roped in for the Netflix superhero movie We Can Be Heroes, Chopra has given her nod to an adaptation of Aravind Adiga’s book The White Tiger.
The screen adaptation will be a Netflix original which will be helmed by Fahrenheit 451 director Ramin Bahrani. The film will also feature Rajkummar Rao in a pivotal role.
Talking about the project, Priyanka said in a statement, “I’m so excited to work with Ramin Bahrani and Netflix to bring Aravind Adiga’s poignant story to cinematic life. When I read the book, I was fascinated with the perspective of the narrative. The story’s portrayal of raw ambition and the extent one will go to achieve one’s goals is riveting. I look forward to filming this in India this fall, and also working along with Rajkummar Rao for the first time and the wonderful cast Ramin is putting together.”
Rajkummar Rao shared his excitement as well and said, “It’s an exciting time for actors today and I’m thrilled to be a part of such a world-class project. I’ve been an admirer of Ramin’s work and am excited to see The White Tiger come to life with Netflix!”
“I have wanted to make a film of Aravind Adiga’s brilliant novel The White Tiger for over a decade. I am grateful to have the opportunity to work with Mukul Deora, Netflix and such an incredible cast on this project,” added the writer and director Ramin Bahrani.
The shooting of the film will begin in India from next month. The book’s central plot follows the rise of a man, who goes on from selling tea to becoming one of the brightest entrepreneurs in town. The project is being co-produced by Priyanka Chopra and Mukul Deora.

Apart from these international projects, Chopra will also be seen in upcoming Bollywood movie The Sky is Pink, which also stars Farhan Akhtar and Zaira Wasim in significant parts.
As of now, Priyanka Chopra is enjoying her time in the US. She recently posted a photo of herself with her mother Madhu Chopra on Instagram. The two could be seen enjoying a tennis match. The actor captioned the photo, “Amazing to watch @serenawilliams win her 100th US Open! Legend! Also always a fun time with this girl @madhumalati!”
