KALYAN:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to perform
bhoomi pujan (Ground breaking ceremony) of Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority's (MMRDA) proposed 25km
Kalyan-Taloja metro route during his visit on September 7 in Mumbai.
Shiv Sena MP
Dr Shrikant Shinde from Kalyan on Wednesday informed the media while issuing press note.
Shinde told TOI, "PM Modi is coming to Mumbai at MMRDA's function where he is likely to make bhoomi pujan of sanctioned Kalyan- Taloja metro route".
The proposed Kalyan-Taloja metro will have 25 kilometers distance and it will have 18 railway stations on route.
Looking at development in region in 2017, Shinde had demanded chief minister
Devendra Fadnavis to consider Kalyan- Taloja route as already Metro was proposed till Kalyan from Thane for better connectivity.
Looking at the demand, CM Devendra Fadnavis had asked MMRDA to make DPR (Detailed Project Report) of the route, which he later on 21 November 2017 sanctioned to be prepared by MMRDA.
The move will benefit lakhs of residents from region who either had to depend on bus route or long train route to reach Navi Mumbai side via Thane.
