Declare holiday till bad roads are repaired: Digambar Kamat

PANAJI: Slamming the government for not repairing roads, opposition leader Digambar Kamat on Wednesday demanded that the state government should declare holiday “till they find a solution to the potholes and minimise the pain of commuters”.
Commuters and motorists are having a tough time in navigating potholed roads and the government is not sensitive to the feelings of the citizens, he said.
On Wednesday too, commuters faced traffic jam along the Cortalim-Agasaim stretch.

Public works department had claimed that the potholes were filled, but heavy rains in the last couple of days has once again made the roads unmotorable on certain stretches, a citizen said.
Reacting to a tweet from a citizen @iampriyanka09 who tagged Digambar Kamat requesting him to find some solution for the major traffic jam on NH 66, Kamat after speaking to the traffic cell of Goa police tweeted: “I spoke to police traffic Cell. They say potholes are creating obstruction in smooth movement of vehicles. I urge@goacm to declare holiday till they find sometime to act & minimise the pains of commuters.”
