Nearly 6,000 complaints registered with UP-RERA against Ansal, Supertech, JAL, 17 others NEW DELHI: About 5,967 complaints have been registered against twenty realtors in Uttar Pradesh, a study of UP-RERA has found. Ansal Properties has the highest number of complaints (1269) registered against it.

It is followed by Supertech which has 817 complaints, Rohtas Project has 458 complaints, Unnati Fortune Holdings has 357 complaints while Jaiprakash Associates has 322 complaints registered against it.

Promoters of 742 projects have been fined Rs 14.84 crore in total by the authority as of August 31, 2019. It has published 846 recovery certificates to retrieve dues worth Rs 296.05 crore of which Rs 33.39 crore have been recovered so far. Of this Rs 27.43 crore have been paid back to the home buyers.

A total of 2,683 projects are registered with UP-RERA out of which 1,343 are in the National Capital Region (NCR) while 1,340 are in other regions. Gautam Budh Nagar has 845 registered projects, Ghaziabad has 336, Lucknow has 544, Agra has 146, Meerut has 126 and Varanasi has 108 registered projects.

In the conciliation forum, the authority has resolved 256 issues till date. The authority has carried out audit of 208 real estate projects.

Till August 31, 2019, about 17,077 complaints have been registered with the authorities. The authority has resolved 10,505 complaints till date which is the highest in the country. Maharashtra-RERA has resolved 5,505, Haryana-RERA has resolved 3,123, Madhya Pradesh-RERA has resolved 2,276, Karnataka-RERA has resolved 1,369 while Gujarat RERA has resolved 1,074 complaints till date.

UP-RERA has sent show-cause notice to 38 promoters in the state who have not submitted completion or occupancy certificates.



Future

From November 2019, UP-RERA will implement e-court modules. It has appointed CRISIL has consultant and will grade real estate projects and companies. It has appointed an authority to create single-window clearance framework for real estate projects in the state.

The authority is also creating a panel of auditing firms which will carry out the forensic and financial audit of real estate projects registered with it. The escrow accounts will also be audited by the panel of ICAI.
