Share market update: FMCG shares trade lower; Tata Global slips 3%

The Nifty FMCG index was trading 0.75 per cent down at 28,551.30 around 10:49 am.

NEW DELHI: FMCG shares were trading lower in Wednesday's morning session.

Shares of Tata Global Beverages (down 2.93 per cent), Britannia Industries (down 2.34 per cent), United Spirits (down 1.82 per cent) and Marico (down 1.53 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

Dabur India (down 1.41 per cent), United Breweries (down 1.30 per cent), Godrej Industries (down 1.24 per cent) and Godrej Consumer Products (down 1.10 per cent) too were trading in the red.

The Nifty FMCG index was trading 0.75 per cent down at 28,551.30 around 10:49 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 38.45 points at 10,759.45 while the BSE Sensex was down 109.73 points at 36,453.18.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 12 were trading in the green, while 38 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Tata Motors, Ashok Leyland, PNB, Vodafone Idea, SBI, Dish TV India, SAIL, Bank of Baroda and JSPL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
