FALL RIVER - Fall River Elks Lodge 118 recently teamed up with Forever Paws Animal Shelter to host a fundraising clam boil to benefit the Fall River Police Department K-9 Working Dog Foundation.
Forever Paws President Gail Furtado, Forever Paws volunteers and Fall River animal control officers joined forces with Elks House Committee Chairman Lenny Boyer and their volunteer kitchen workers to serve 225 individual clam boils at the Elks Hall.
Assisting the Elks crew were Fall River Young Marines volunteers who assisted participants in delivering their food and helping with the daily operations.
The fundraising effort raised over $4,000 to assist in veterinary bills and training for the Fall River Police Department K-9’s.
