Another to be held in Ranipet Sub-Collector office tomorrow

The district administration of Vellore conducted a special grievances day for differently abled persons on Tuesday.

Officials received petitions from 200 persons, who have requested support and financial assistance from the State government. The participants underwent screening by experts to assess the level of disability. After their certification, 135 people received their disability-identity cards at the end of the camp.

An official at the camp said the grievances day meeting for differently abled persons on the first Tuesday of every month. This was the first camp since June as the model code of conduct was enforced. Beneficiaries could apply for identity cards and get them after verification at these camps.

A similar camp was held at the Tirupattur Sub-Collector office today.

Another such camp would be held on Thursday at the Ranipet Sub-Collector office, an official said.
