Kanpur: Deputy chief minister Dinesh Sharma said from the next year UP Board examinations would be over within a fortnight. Class X exams would be finished in 12 days time and cass XII in within 14 days, he added.
Sharma, who was in the city to inaugurate the examination building at Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj University campus on Tuesday, said that a centralised system would be established to control and monitor examination centers in the districts.
Later, talking to reporters, the minister stated that in comparison to last year, the number of examination centers in the state in 2020 would be quite less.
Employment-based professional courses would be conducted as a part of higher education, he further said.
Replying to a question on removal of Article 370 of the Constitution, the deputy CM said, "The war threats by Pakistan have no basis as it cannot engage in another war with India". Earlier, the deputy chief minister felicitated meritorious students at a programme organized by the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) in the university campus.
The deputy CM said the state government has formulated a work plan to encourage meritorious and intelligent students in the state. "Under the work plan, which has already commenced in Lucknow division, intelligent students, studying in Uttar Pradesh and Delhi boards, who secure 76%-80% marks respectively in the science subject will receive a stipend of Rs 10,000 for 15 months, and thereafter they would get a package of Rs 2.20 lakh and admission in MSc, MTech, and computer science courses. They will have to pay just 50%fee", he said.
The government is also working for the welfare of degree holder unemployed youths, Sharma said.
