Stock market update: Private bank shares fall; ICICI Bank drops over 2.5%

Among the 50 stocks in Nifty, 13 were trading in the green, while 37 were in the red.

NEW DELHI: Shares of Private banks were trading with losses in Tuesday's morning session.

Shares of ICICI Bank (down 2.50 per cent), IDFC First Bank (down 2.07 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank (down 1.62 per cent), Axis Bank (down 1.55 per cent), DCB Bank (down 1.23 per cent), HDFC Bank (down 1.04 per cent) and Federal Bank (down 0.90 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

While YES Bank (up 1.33 per cent) was the only gainer at around the same time.

The Nifty Private Bank index was trading 1.47 per cent down at 15,084.1 around 10:14 am.

The benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 113.60 points at 10,909.65, while the BSE Sensex was 377.57 points down at 36,955.22.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 13 were trading in the green, while 37 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, PNB, Vodafone Idea, Tata Motors, Bank of Baroda, Union Bank India, SAIL, Ashok Leyland, SBI and Indiabulls Housing Finance were among the most traded securities on the NSE.
