Mangaluru: A jewellery shop on Bhavanthi Street in the heart of the city was burgled by unidentified miscreants, who made a hole in the wall to get into the shop.
According to police, the incident came to light on Tuesday morning, when the shop was opened.
Gold and jewellery, belonging to Anil Shet, was kept at the shop from Sunday noon on account of Ganesh Chaturthi. Police added the total value of the burgled goods was yet to be calculated, since the owner was away. A police dog squad and fingerprint experts visited the spot. The police are also checking nearby CCTVs for vital clues.
A case has been registered at the Mangaluru North police station in this regard.
Man booked for sexually harassing minor
The Dakshina Kannada district police have arrested a 44-year-old man for sexually harassing a minor girl, in the Vittal police limits. He has been booked under the Pocso Act.

According to police, the accused is Satish Kulal, a resident of KC Road. The accused used to harass a SSLC student whenever she walked home from school, and even tried to get physical with her several times, said sources. She later complained to her parents, who booked a case against Satish, after which he was arrested on Tuesday.
Police added that Satish also assaulted a schoolboy, who was questioned him about his wrongdoings. The boy also lodged a case against the accused.
