Kaizer Chiefs give update on Billiat injury

2019-09-03 07:26

Cape Town - Khama Billiat could be in a race against time to be fit for Kaizer Chiefs' Absa Premiership clash against Polokwane City after the international break.

Billiat picked up an injury to his pelvic area in the victory over Cape Town City that was played last Tuesday.

According to a statement on Amakhosi's website, the Zimbabwe international has had scans done but the seriousness of the injury is still unclear.

The statement said: "Billiat got a knock to his right pelvic bone during The Amakhosi’s 2-1 win in their away Absa Premiership encounter that took place last Tuesday against Cape Town City, he has had a scan done and it is unclear how long he needs to recover at this stage."

Meanwhile, defender Ramahlwe Mphahlele and midfielder Nkosingiphile Ngcobo are continuing with their rehabilitation process as they aim to make a return to action.

Mphahlele has been out with a groin injury but has started jogging again while Ngcobo will be eased back into action after recovering from an Achilles injury picked up last season.

The Soweto giants will next be in action on September 14 when they will host Rise and Shine at the FNB Stadium.
