NEW DELHI: Most cement stocks were trading in the red in Tuesday's afternoon session.

Shares of Barak Valley Cements (down 4.93 per cent), Saurashtra Cement (down 4.58 per cent), ACC (down 3.13 per cent), UltraTech Cement (down 2.98 per cent) and Shiva Cement (down 2.38 per cent) lost upto 5 per cent.

Ambuja Cements (down 2.37 per cent), Orient Cement (down 2.33 per cent), Star Cement (down 2.08 per cent) and Shree Cement (down 2.01 per cent) too were trading in the negative zone.

While shares of Andhra Cements (up 4.96 per cent), Udaipur Cement Works (up 1.56 per cent) and JK Cements (up 0.91 per cent) were trading higher.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 124.80 points down at 10,898.45, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 420.41 points at 36,912.38 at around 10:55 am.

HCL Technologies (up 2.70 per cent), Tech Mahindra (up 2.23 per cent), Bharti Infratel (up 2.10 per cent), YES Bank (up 1.67 per cent) and Britannia Industries (up 1.62 per cent) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Indian Oil Corporation (down 3.47 per cent), ICICI Bank (down 3.10 per cent), Eicher Motors (down 3.07 per cent), Tata Motors (down 3.04 per cent) and UltraTech Cement (down 2.97 per cent) were trading in the red.
