Retired fire and rescue services official, daughter die as car collides with truck in Tamil Nadu

MADURAI: A retired fire and rescue services official and his daughter died on the spot when a car they were travelling in collided with a truck near Srivilliputhur in Virudhunagar district of Tamil Nadu on Monday night.
The deceased have been identified as Milton Jayakumar, 60, of Keelakadayam in Tirunelveli district and his daughter Renila Rose, 26.
The accident happened when Jayakumar and Rose, who was married, were returning home from Madurai.
The truck, which originated from Kerala, was on its way to Madurai. Truck driver Sirajudeen, 43, escaped with minor injuries.
Police and fire and rescue services personnel recovered the bodies from the mangled remains of the car and sent them for postmortem.
The Srivilliputhur Town police registered.
