KOLKATA: A 28-year-old woman lodged a complaint after her neighbour flashed in front of her house. The accused was joined by another person, who also harassed her. When another neighbour protested, the accused went on to threaten him. The victim is a resident of north Kolkata’s Shyampukur area. The entire act was videographed by the 28-year-old.
The victim has already submitted a video recording as a proof of the incident. The Shyampukur police have registered a case of molestation and criminal intimidation.
According to the FIR and the video, the accused — both of whom are electricians — are seen threatening the woman from the street even as she is standing on the first floor of her residence. One of them is seen walking towards her and flashing in the process. At this point, another man on a bike came up besides the first accused and began supporting the first man. In the video, the first man was also seen threatening a senior citizen, when he comes forward to stop them. He even raised his hand but was stopped by the second accused.
Police sources said the two neighbours have been involved in a long-lasting tenancy duel. “The two sides complained against each other often. But we are taking this seriously since the complaint is grave. A proper investigation has already been ordered,” said an investigating officer from north division.
