With a win against West Indies, India takes the top stop in the World Test Championship table with 120 points.

According to the points system, a win in a two-match series will see the winning team get awarded 60 points. The dominant show by India earned them 120 points from the series win.

Following India on the table are New Zealand, Sri Lanka, England and Australia - all having won one match each.

While New Zealand and Sri Lanka have 60 points, Australia and England – who have played three matches – have 32 points to show.

Position Team Matches Won Lost Drawn Points
1 India 2 2 0 0 120
2 New Zealand 2 1 1 0 60
3 Sri Lanka 2 1 1 0 60
4 Australia 3 1 1 1 32
5 England 3 1 1 1 32
6 West Indies 2 0 2 0 0
7 South Africa 0 0 0 0 0
8 Bangladesh 0 0 0 0 0
9 Pakistan 0 0 0 0 0

Each team will play six series, with each series counting for 120 points, distributed over the number of matches in a series. For example, a two-match series will mean 60 points for each Test while a three-match series will give 40 points to each Test match. A tie will be 50% of the points available, whilst a draw will be a 3:1 points ratio.

If two teams are tied on points, the team that won more series shall be ranked higher. If teams are still equal, then the team with the higher runs per wicket ratio shall be ranked higher. The runs per wicket ratio are calculated as runs scored per wicket lost, divided by, runs conceded per wicket taken.
