Former India cricketer Wasim Jaffer expressed his displeasure against the Mumbai civic body for approving the decision to cut over 2,700 trees for a Metro car shed in the leafy Aarey Colony.
The Tree Authority of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) gave the nod to cut trees to build the new Metro car shed in the Aarey Colony in suburban Goregaon, which is renowned as one of the main green lung of the metropolis.
Jaffer took to Twitter to express his displeasure over the decision.
"When something goes wrong, Mumbaikars say Arey Yaar. Its time to say Aarey Yaar about Aarey forest. #AareyForest #SaveAareyForest #SaveAareySaveMumbai @mybmc," Jaffer said and added a picture with a line ''Is Aaray not a forest''.
